Nazario Salas Rosas
Maestro Mezcalero
Nazario learned mezcal-making from his family. After working in the U.S., he returned to Mexico and now leads the family business after his father’s passing.
Rolando Ángeles Cruz
Maestro Mezcalero
Rolando, raised around agave spirits, earned a business degree in 2014. A motorcycle accident and mezcal’s rise led him back to his family’s palenques.


Onofre Ortiz Ortiz
Maestro Mezcalero
Onofre, from a mezcalero family, spent 11 years in California before returning home. He now produces mezcal and dreams of launching his own brand.
Rubén López Diego

Rubén learned mezcal-making from his father and grandfather. With only elementary schooling, he preserves his family’s tradition with support from Puntiagudo.
